PK- the film

Just was going through an amazing review of the film, PK. A raju hirani film which stars Anushka sharma, Sushant Kumar Rajput, Boman Irani and the extremely talented and versatile Amir Khan. Amir is a very intense actor who rehearses his line several times to make it perfect. His perfectionism can be annoying at times but that is the way he is. He probably will not be able to evoke a mass hysteria like Salman Khan but i am happy with him doing the kind of movies he does. A Salman "Kick" or "Jai Ho" or Ek tha tiger might be making 100s of crores in the box office but to the sensible movie goer paying money to watch a decent movie, the themes are just plain bogus and will not be watched unless someone is chained to the chair. Amir khans movie brings about a refreshing change. In this movie he plays the role of a naked alien who arrives in earth by accident. He loses his remote, his sole tool to establish connection with his alien planet. There he gets embroiled in different adventures with anuska as company. Anuska plays the role of a journalist, her short cropped hair giving her a different look. The movie is endearing as it looks at the various ills of our society through the eyes of an alien. The craziness associated to rituals to absolve ourselves of sins is hilarious. It looks at the divide in our society along religious lines-There is one scene where amir moves from temples to mosques to churches to offer prayers to different gods in order to have divine intervention to find his remote. This is typical raju hirani at his best, where the essence of the message is captured through different scenes which touches the heart. I remember a scene where madhavan tells his father that he wants to choose wild life photography because thats where his passion lies. The movie teaches us to be excellent in whichever area of life we are good at. Not just follow the dreams of the parents but follow your own path. My dad never forced me to do anything in my life. He probably never realized that Pharmacy will be too tough for me as well. When Himu went to Pharmacy college, he wanted me to work in a good environment with an opportunity to get a white colored job. I struggled with all the practical work that came with the course. I could not tie the thread properly when a mouse foot had to be hung for an experiment. For many years i was scarred by my experience at these laboratories. The Pharmacognosy lab was even worse where I had to identify the origin of different plants kept in bottles. It was frustrating to say the least.
Anyways I am glad that the movie is doing well. Not sure if it will become a box office hit or not but I am glad that it is doing well.
Anuska is suitably spirited and full of beans. She is excited from her relationship with Virat. Currently virat again has a slump of form, getting out cheaply in both the innings of India's defeat to australia in gabba.

The growing stature of Modi

Modi has definitely had an outstanding run as a PM so far. From consolidating the position of the country in the international forum to winning state assembly elections, he is certainly a larger than life figure in Indian politics.
The mode can continue as more states go into polls in the recent future. However in the latest parliament session, the opposition is ganging up against the BJP to stall the proceedings of the parliament. There are some crucial bills that are outstanding- Insurance bills and the GSP are two of them. Modi is delivering- atleast thats what the popular perception is. He is a stark contrast to Manmohan singh who refused to open his mouth even to his worst detractors and critic. He probably had good intentions in mind but could never put out his agenda strongly to the people. Thus Congress was handed out their worst defeat since the Emergency rule in the seventies. The party continues to be led by the dynasty, hanging onto the inept ways of Sonia and Rahul Gandhi. With Sonia gandhi not in the best of health, the fortune of the party seems to be hanging in balance. Rahul Gandhi has not proved himself as an effective leader of the masses. He doesnt seem to have a clear clarity in thinking, often resorting to cheap political gimicks like tearing off the manifesto of an opposition party in one of his public speeches. That kind of gimics can work only for a certain section of the population but people are definitely becoming wiser.
In the Lok Sabha, BJP has a brute majority and thus the proceedings are being allowed to function without too much interruptions. However when it comes to Rajya Sabha, BJP needs to do well in the next few assembly elections to come close to dictating terms. Currently they are in a minority and with all political parties joining hands in trying to stop the BJP juggernaut, it is not surprising that every issue is being looked as a reason to stall the proceedings. I think Indian politics need to move forward where effective debates should be the order of the day instead of disruptional politics that the opposition parties are resorting to.

Day 1

Well I do share an opinion about most things of life. Which is exactly what I plan to pen down over the next few months as I progress to become a great writer. it is true that I have lost my writing skills. I have lost my confidence and I need to get it back. This is absolutely vital for my career.
There are some common tips for writing well. The first is that one has to read a lot. It is something that I can occassionally do.Also it will be nice to increase my vocabolary. A thesarus or a synonym will definitely be of great deal of help. The more I practice, the better I will become. i will not be like Jhumpa Lahiri on day 1. But if I keep at it, one day definitely I will gain my confidence back to become a fabolous writer. One of the issues that I have had in the past was of skipping words while I write. I need to tighten that up.
Jai keeps sending me these hot videos. There is this girl who is sucking the dick of a man. she also has nice voluptious boobs. Finally he sent me something that I liked.

The downing of MH17 by Pro russian ukrainian seperatist amounts to a war crime. There is heavy pile of weaponry. More than 10000 people have left the country and become refugees. The human casualty of something like this is hard to imagine. Somewhere the world has become such a dangerous place to live in. In Iraq, life was better under saddam till US attacked them under the pretext of finding weapons of mass destruction. Afghanistan also hasnt settled down since US attached the country after 9/11. The situation in syria is worse than it ever was. Libya and egypt have been unsettling. Oil prices are going up every day. The new government of BJP is being stiffled with pressures from all ends and is getting into the news for the wrong reasons.
